Earth probe regeneration

Geothermal probes are to be preferred over less efficient heat pump systems with regard to the winter electricity gap.

However, only a fraction of the extracted energy flows back from the ground. Geothermal probes with drilling depths of up to 500m do not use geothermal energy but stored solar energy. In contrast to "real" geothermal energy with drilling depths of 2,000m and more, only a fraction of the energy extracted flows out of the earth's interior. In larger construction projects with borehole heat exchangers, their regeneration is essential. Thermal regeneration may also be necessary if borehole heat exchangers are used in close proximity to each other.

Hybrid collectors are ideally suited for the regeneration of geothermal probes and do not compromise the space required for electricity generation.
